Cecily strong

  Cecily Legler Strong, born 8 February 1984, is an American comedian, actress who is also a producer, performer, and comedian. Strong is well-known for her role as an Saturday Night Live cast member from 2012 to 2022. She's the longest-running female actor on the show's history. Strong was hired for SNL during improv classes in The Second City in Chicago which is where she relocated following her graduation from CalArts. The role she is currently in is star in the Apple TV+ musical comedy show Schmigadoon! (2021-present) in which she is also co-producing.



 



 She also voices The Awesomes (2013 to 2015), as well as supporting roles in films such as Ghostbusters and The Meddler. In 2015, she hosted White House Correspondents' Dinner. In 2021, her first book The Memoir This Is Going to be Over Soon Soon, was published.



 



 She was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series and Saturday Night Live.



 



 Early life



 Strong was born and was raised in Springfield, Illinois. She is the daughter Penelope Strong and William "Bill", who were both Associated Press bureau chiefs and in 2013, owned their own public relations company. Penny Legler Strong has extensive knowledge of nursing and has worked in several local hospitals. Strong was the child of divorced parents. Strong loved SNL as a kid, reenacting sketches with her companion and watching older SNL commercials on VHS. "I owned a tape with the best commercials that I used every day. She said that Phil Hartman was the person who inspired her.
